Formed by the companies Orafti, Palatinit and Remy in 2007, BENEO is a 100 percent subsidiary of the Südzucker Group and has more than 100 years of experience in developing and producing functional ingredients. It employs approximately 900 people and markets its products in more than 80 countries. Production sites are located in Belgium, Chile, Germany and Italy. Whereas its sales offices are in Belgium, Germany, Spain, Brazil, US and Singapore.
BENEO offers a range of ingredients with nutritional, health and technical benefits derived from the natural sources chicory roots, sugar beet and rice. By “Connecting nutrition and health”, the company supports food and feed manufacturers to produce healthy and more balanced products.
BENEO ingredients offer food manufacturers routes to develop tasteful products that are nutritionally optimized with less or no sugar or fat, fibre -enriched or gluten- as well as dairy-free and more. And, BENEO takes it further: energy management, digestive, bone and dental health, are concepts where BENEO’s ingredients can play a decisive role. In addition, they improve the taste and texture of food and beverages.
BENEO specialises in supplying manufacturers with functional ingredients of non-animal origin that allow innovative products. The company’s product portfolio focus on applications, such as baby food, bakery and cereals, beverages, confectionery and dairy, and more.
Through a connected chain of expertise, including the BENEO-Institute and the BENEO-Technology Center, the company supports customers throughout the entire product development process: from new product ideas and concept development, based on consumer insights and market research, through to nutritional science, providing regulatory advice and facilitating the formulation of successful products.
The BENEO-Institute facilitates access to the latest scientific research and knowledge concerning nutritional and regulatory topics related to BENEO ingredients. It provides BENEO customers and partners with substantiated guidance for some of the most challenging questions in the food industry.
The BENEO-Technology Center complements the expertise of BENEO through food application know-how. It supports customers and partners with specialist advice to tackle technical questions in product development and formulation, with process knowledge, on-site consultancy and technical problem solving.
Since beginning of 2013 BENEO has been working with innotaste as their exclusive distributor in Germany.
